AAMC has been a long-time supporter of Clinical Pastoral Education. From 1986-1997, AAMC had a well established CPE program. In 2014 the CPE program recommenced. In 2018 AAMC CPE program became a satellite of Johns Hopkins CPE. In 2023, the program was accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education as a CPE program on its own.

The CPE program at AAMC is generously supported by Katherine Lantz in memory of her husband and CPE Educator Robert Lantz. Rev. Dr. Lantz served the Annapolis community as a pastoral counselor and teacher.

The CPE program is grateful for Rev. Michael Kurtz, who had the vision to connect the Lantz foundation with a renewal of clinical pastoral education at AAMC.
